Riteish Deshmukh might have given many a comic hit in the recent past but it feels good to know that the actor is still down to earth and remains to be the typical Maharashtrian mulga ! Renuka Vyavahare met the actor at a suburban recording studio in Mumbai where he was dubbing for his forthcoming film, De Taali , to know about the latest happenings in his life including his IIFA debut!

You are quite kicked about your presence at IIFA 2008? Anything special?
I am looking forward to being there as I'll be hosting an award function for the very first time in my life! Boman Irani and I will be hosting IIFA this year and I can't wait to go to Bangkok! It's going to be a fun trip for me.

Your next release is De Taali . Tell us about it?
De Taali is a film primarily about friendship, which is also a romantic, quadrangular love story! The film revolves around three friends (Riteish, Ayesha and Aftab) and showcases how they retain their friendship amidst the twists and turbulations in their life. It also shows how the dynamics of these three friends come to a change when Rimi Sen comes to picture.

What about your character in the film?
I play Paglu! He is very lazy yet active, he doesn't believe in 9-5 job. He is game for anything non-sense. His mind is active in scheming things. He wants Avi (Aftab) and Amrita (Ayesha) to come closer and subtract Rimi Sen from their life!

What films lined up next?
I am waiting for Alladin to release. I play Alladin in it; Amitabh Bachchan the genie and Sanjay Dutt the villain. The film is not a comedy. I am also doing David Dhawan's and Vashu Bhagnani's next Don't Disturb with Govinda. Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai will be my next solo film.

Are you seeing Genelia D'Souza?
I am tired of even denying the news but I'll once again say that I am not seeing
Genelia.
